Metrics and quantification are essential for measuring SDG progress, and in this chapter, Professor Sachs explores a number of ways that SDG metrics are becoming available through Voluntary National Reviews and Sustainable Development Goal indicators. He discusses ways that data is collected and considered, including the World Happiness Report and the UN Global Pulse, as well as the importance of Big Data.
