The 2030 Agenda requires substantial levels of investment in areas such as health care, education, infrastructure, energy, climate change, as well as peace, security and resilience of economies. Many low-income countries face difficulties such as a higher need for funding to converge towards the 2030 Agenda, restricted ability to collect and allocate resources and difficulties in attracting private investments. As a response to the growing global needs, the global community put emphasis on emerging and innovative financing approaches.
