In this chapter, Michael Stanley talks about integrated spatial planning, which requires shared values to leverage the private sector investment towards poverty reduction and economic growth and diversification. The environment, water resources, community, and other development of the area have to be managed by the extractive industry in integrated spatial planning. There are many stakeholders in this approach and in building the shared value proposition, there must be a dialogue that captures all aspirations for development of the landscape. Some examples of case studies are provided.
