Islamic banks and conventional banks have different characteristics. One of the distinguished elements is the relationship between the bank and the customer. In an Islamic bank, the relationship between the bank and the customer is not of a lender and borrower. The relationship between the customer and the bank varies according to the commercial requirements of the transaction, hence different Shariah nominate contracts come into the picture.
