Is it still possible to save the Amazon?

This lecture will argue that the Amazon is a really complex and diverse system, and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, there is a set of solutions that can be replicated and scaled-up to save and protect the Amazon. The last two modules of this course will delve into some of these solutions, including the importance of protected areas and Indigenous territories for conservation, forest restoration, a bioeconomy of standing forests and free-flowing rivers, and intercultural education initiatives.
