With a drying climate, cropping poses risks to wetlands and swamps. While laws exist to protect wetlands on private land, in the absence of significant enforcement resources and/or a shared understanding and mandate (among farmers, the community and government) that recognise the mutual value that wetlands can offer, legislation alone will be ineffective. The aim of this work, presented in the video below, was to capture the opinions and experiences from farmers in the south-west region of Victoria, Australia, to explore how wetland protection can co-exist with cropping practices on private land.
