Islamic finance and economic practices are well-positioned to support the overhaul of public financial management systems and the strengthening of health, education, and food security infrastructures. Collaboration between Islamic finance and impact investing should be considered to exercise investors’ activism for an ethical finance, the promotion of transparency and greater integration of environmental and social considerations. Towards this end, governments and multilateral institutions should explore synergies between Islamic finance and impact investing.
