Islamic finance institutions are identifying the Sustainable Development Goals as an area of priority both from a multilateral perspective and from country-level and institutional-level perspectives; overlapping with the mandates of multilateral banks and multilateral development institutions. SDG alignment can span Islamic social finance and Islamic commercial finance. There are several examples of how UNDP has been working with both commercial finance and social finance in service of the Sustainable Development Goals.
