The IsDB Green Sukuk

IsDB issued its debut green Sukuk in 2019 raising €1 billion which is committed to projects in renewable energy, clean transportation, energy efficiency, pollution prevention and control, environmentally sustainable management of natural living resources and land use and sustainable water and wastewater management across its 57 member countries. In 2021, the IsDB announced the issuance of the second AAA-rated sustainability Sukuk in the global capital markets, which complements the initiatives that IsDB has undertaken as part of its wide-ranging response to COVID-19 for its member countries. The Bank raised $2.5 billion with its sustainability Sukuk, which is also its biggest dollar-denominated public issuance to date.
