This is the fourth lecture in the course "The Covid-19 Pandemic: Virology, Public Health, and Economics," taught by Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, Columbia University. 

The course offers a comprehensive and up-to-date analysis of the global Covid-19 epidemic. We will consider the epidemic from multiple perspectives, including: the historical role of epidemics in human history; the basic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2; the basic virology of SARS-Cov-2; the nature and causes of zoonotic diseases; the efficacy of Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions (NPIs) to control the epidemic; a comparative analysis of control measures in different countries; the economic and humanitarian consequences of the epidemic and ways to meliorate the crisis; the economics of vaccine development; and the role of international cooperation and global health institutions.
